The Time is Now

I had the great fortune of seeing a blooming Evening Primrose yesterday morning. These flowers come out at night and are often spent by the morning, waiting all year for just one big show. I wonder if they perceive their life to be short. The way we view an Evening Primrose's life is probably the same way a great Bristlecone Pine views the brevity of our lives. It's all relative so maybe that's not the right way to think about it. Either way, it's a reminder that life is precious, live it to its fullest. And maybe take a cue from the Evening Primrose, bloom while you have the time.

What are Little Moments you say? This is a once weekly newsletter that I hope is a small nudge or ounce of motivation for you to get outside and observe the natural world. It doesn't have to be grandiose, a small leaf on the ground, an interesting rock, anything you notice that you pay enough attention to casually sketch it or paint it in a journal. All the Little Moments add up to a life lived more observantly, grounded in the natural world.
