A Walk in the Wetlands

Yesterday my son and I spent the morning at Kachina Wetlands, creating a journal entry in preparation for tomorrow's class. There was so much to see and watch. All the bird personalities were fun to observe. The Red-Winged Blackbirds seem to run the joint, ganging up and causing a ruckus. We saw too many little ducklings to count, following obediently behind their mamas. I am looking forward to spending more time there on Sunday morning!

There is still time to sign up if you would like to join us. These summer classes are focused on how to approach a specific topic and location, to create a journal entry, rather than drawing or painting specific techniques.

Happy Fourth of July weekend. I hope you are able to spend time outside and celebrate with your community.

What are Little Moments you say? This is a once weekly newsletter that I hope is a small nudge or ounce of motivation for you to get outside and observe the natural world. It doesn't have to be grandiose, a small leaf on the ground, an interesting rock, anything you notice that you pay enough attention to casually sketch it or paint it in a journal. All the Little Moments add up to a life lived more observantly, grounded in the natural world.
